TANGIER AGREEMENT

FRANCE AND SPAIN RELATIONS WITH ITALY By Cable. —Press Association. — Copyright. Reed. 9.5 a.m. PARIS, Sunday. France and Spain have arrived at an agreement respecting Tangier, which will shorter be submitted to other interested parties. According to a message from Madrid the Spanish Government has issued a statement to the Press regarding the Franco-Spanish agreement, which modifies the statute penal code with a view to preventing Tangier becoming a centre for contraband arms and disaffection, leading to armed aggression against Spain. The statement also, foreshadows discussions between England and Italy to define Tangier’s position. The Paris newspaper "Le Journal” considers that the conversations are likely to develop into a general discussion concerning Franco-Italian relations.—A. and N.Z.-Sun.
