BRITISH HOTEL LICENCE

TRANSFER SOUGHT POWER BOARD’S NEW BUILDING The transfer of the licence now held on behalf of the British Hotel is to be applied for at the Licensing Committee on Wednesday, the Auckland Power Board, owner of the premises, having this afternoon signified its approval of the transfer. The licence will be taken to a building in Princes Street, at present being used as an annex to the Grand Hotel. The demolition of the British Hotel will commence on April 15 in preparation for the erection of a new building for the Power Board, and In order to keep the licence alive a transfer Is necessary. The building in Princes Street adjoins the premises occupied by the Waitemata and Manukau County Councils. It is owned by Mrs. B. Youngson, and leased to the Grand Hotel. The present licence expires on April 14.
