CHINESE MAKE MERRY
HONOURING GRAND MASTER A MASONIC SOCIAL The Chinese Masonic Hall in Grey Avenue was gaily decorated with flags and evergreens and illuminated -by night yesterday,, when about 300 brethren of the Chinese Masonic fraternity and a large number of Auckland business people as guests gathered to greet the Grand Master, Mr. Gin-Gook Yin, who celebrated his 60th birthday, and had been for 30 years Grand Master of the lodge in Auckland. The president, Mr. C. King-Lim, on behalf of the brethren, presented the Grand Master with a large gold pendant. The Wellington Lodge sent a gold medal and a cheque with its greetings, a cheque also being received from the Hamilton Lodge. The function was in charge of the secretary, Mr. A. H. Duk, the wellknown Chinese interpreter. Afternoon tea was served at the commencement of the function at two o’clock, and later a dinner was served in the hall to the accompaniment of music from a Chinese orchestra. The gathering dispersed at midnight.
