DRUNK AND RESENTFUL
SERVICE CAR STONED “I’ve got no time for these ser-vice-car drivers; they won’t stop ■and give a fellow a lift along the road." THIS was the defence put forward by Michael Quinn, aged 58, in the Otahuhu Police Court on Saturday morning, when he appeared before Messrs. R. B. Todd and C. J. KeniJohnstone, J.P.’s, charged with drunkenness and assault at Westfield on the previous evening. It was stated that accused threw a large stone which struck a service-car, and his reason for the action was that the drivers would never stop and give him a lift. For being drunk he was convicted and discharged, and on the assault charge he was placed where there are no free rides for a month.
