DEATH OF LITTLE BOY OPEN VERDICT RETURNED Press Association. HAWERA, Saturday. The inquest was held yesterday on Roy Edward Jackson, aged six years, who was knocked down by a car on February 2 when running across a road on the outskirts of the town to meet his father and died in hospital oif February 26. Evidence showed that the boy was running behind a stationary car on the edge of the road, and suddenly appeared in the path of a moving car, the driver, John R. Miller, a farmer, being unable to avoid striking the boy. The jury found that the boy died from injuries received through being accidentally struck by a car driven by Miller.
