School Accommodation. —Advice has been received by the Mayor of Paeroa, Mr. W. Marshall, that the Minister of Education will visit Paeroa District High School on March 20. Several school committees will wait upon him in connection with staffing and accommodation matters.

Found Hanging. —George Walter Richardson, aged 45, a slaughterman at the Kaiti Freezing Works, was found hanging - in the wash-house of his home last evening after the family returned from a picnic. The deceased had not been in good health for some time. He leaves a widow, one son and one daughter. An inquest will be held today. Oamaru Raises Funds. —The culminating point in the big eifort to raise funds for the improvement of the Oamaru Gardens was a fete on Saturday. The object was £ 3,000 and this has been raised in under four weeks, including £1,214 on Saturday, which is a remarkable result for a town the size of Oamaru. There is still more to come.—Press Association. Picnic Delayed. —While conveying a party of employees and friends to a picnic on Sunday morning, a truck owned by the National Trading Company, and a motorcar owned and driven by Mr. Meredith, of Otorolianga, collided at the junction of Princes Street and Panmure Road, Otahuhu. The car was damaged on the front mudgard, but the truck escaped injury. Midnight Crash. —While proceeding to town at about midnight on Saturday, the back tyre of a motor-car owned and driven by Mr. D. Carline, of Auckland, blew out, causing the car to swerve on to the kerbing, and before it could be pulled up it collided with a telegraph pole on Great South Road at Otahuhu. The front mudguard was torn from the chassis, the axle broken, and the wheel crumpled. The occupants, however, were not injured.
