CARE OF MAORI TEETH

DENTAL CLINIC WANTED PAKEHA FOOD BLAMED Attention was drawn to the riv ages made in the teeth of Maori children by European foods at last night’s meeting of Te Akarana Maori Association. At one time the Maori was celebrated for his perfect teeth. Nowadays it is a different story. The food of the pakeha is said to have been the cause of all the trouble. Members declared that the Maori child should receive dental treatment in precisely the same manner as the children of Europeans. Though pakeha children have the benefits of a dental clinic, this is denied to Maoris. Dr. Ellison, Director of Maori Hygiene, is being communicated with in regard to this matter.
