MCCONACHY’S ALL ROUND DISPLAY MATCH AT NEWTON Spectacular all-round play was featured last night in an exhibition billiards match between Clark MoConachv, the well-known champion, and R. M. O'Dnnoghue, of Auckland. Th emalcli was staged as a free attraction by Mr. A. T. Wigs, proprietor of tho Premier Billiard Boom, Karangahape Road, and the popularity of the venture was proved by the attendance, the accommodation being packed. O'Donoghue, to whom the champion was conceding 500 in 1,000, struck a McConachy who was very much in form. McConachy sacrificed accuracy to turn on an all-round display, in which many spectacular shots were mingled. In the circumstances his big break of 207 was a notable effort. It was made up mostly of an entertajn- , ing pot-the-red ana cannon sequence ! off the top spot. Other good breaks : were 94, 93, 84 and 71, McConachy runi ning out a good winner. Subsequently he played a variety of ; entertainng trick shots.
