BOON TO PONSONBY
BRANCH OF SAVINGS BANK
TO BE OPENED TO-MORROW
The progressive policy of the Auckland Savings Bank is further evidenced by the opening to-morrow in Ponsonby of yet another suburban branch office. The new building, situated in Jervois Road, near the Three Lamps, is quite an ornament to the district. The exterior has a base of granite, being faced in white Oamaru stone. The facade is finished with columns of white Hawkesbury sandstone. Inside the building, the panelling and furniture are all executed in lightly fumed oak, which harmonises pleasingly with the white ceiling. The grilles above the tellers desks are made in bronze instead of the usual cloudy brass. , . _ Mr. E. C. Brakenng has been appointed manager of the new branch, which opens to-morrow.
