That to polish a piano that seems greasy it should first be washed with vinegar and water, wiped dry, then poh'shed with a good furniture cream. That for a stained marble washstand it is an excellent thing to rub it with lemon juice and :>alt. That if equal parts of olive oil and vinegar are used for cleaning linoleum it will last much longer than if washed in the ordinary way. That stains on piano keys will vanish if rubbed with a mixture of whiting and methylated spirit. That boiled linseed oil well rubbed into oak bedsteads gives them a beautiful polish. That if tortoiseshell is badly scratched, powdered pumice stone may be used to improve the surface. Afterwards rub, using a circular motion, with whiting mixed with water to the consistency of thick cream. Polish finally with a little dry whiting on a soft rag 4
