CAR TURNS TURTLE

: ACCIDENT ON BEACH While turning a corner on the Waihi Beach on Saturday afternoon, the front axle of a car driven by Mr. Charles Carter, of Savage Road, Waihi, snapped, one of the wheels flew off, and the car turned turtle. Mr. Carter was thrown clear, but the passengers in the car, his mother and sister, and two children, were caught under the body, and only got out with difficulty. They were quite unhurt, however, and were able to go home immediately. The car was badly damaged, and had to be left on the sands. It was finally towed out on Monday morning, by which time the tide had washed over it, still further damaging it.
