A WISE POLICY

r PHE executive of the Waikato Trotting Club, with commendable foresight, is moving early in the direction of coping with the probable excessive fields in two events at the approaching fixture. It has been decided that should the acceptances *or the Progressive and Farewell Handicaps disclose a big response from owners on Monday next, these events will be run in two divisions and the stake for each race increased 50 per cent. This action will be appreciated by those with representatives engaged and should the divisions become necessary, the public will appreciate the fact that the draw will be published before race day.
