BACK-COUNTRY SCHOOLS
BOARD MEMBERS INSPECT A party of members of the Taranaki Education Board, comprising Messrs. S. G. Smith (chairman), A Lees, H. Dempsey, R. J. Deare, and H. W. Insull (secretary), is at present touring the eastern and northern portion of the board’s district, making themselves acquainted with the general conditions of the schools. The party left New Plymouth last Tuesday morning, and in the interim have worked through to the Ohura where all the schools are being visited. Ongarue and Taumarunui areas are to be visited, after which the board will return to Ohura, via Otunui and Tokirima, and on Saturday returns via Waitaanga to New Plymouth.
