HAMILTON BOROUGH

WATER RESTRICTIONS

At t lie meeting of the Hamilton Borough Council last night it was agreed to partially lift the restrictions on the use of water. Xo further action will be taken in connection with the proposed angle parking of cars in Victoria Street. Fourteen tenders were received for the erection of the transformer house, one for £1,279 ultimately being accepted. The council adopted a report altering the existing basis of the water charges, Cr. Tidd emphatically dissenting. Advice was received from the Public Works Department that while it could not undertake to reimburse the council for all costs incurred in the damage to the waterworks from Arapuni operations, it would endeavour to meet the position satisfactorily.
