BUSY WEEK-END

RAILWAY EXCURSIONS PICNICS AND RACES The New Zealand Railways at Auckland are going to have a busy weekend. Arrangements are being made for the carriage of about 2.600 picnickers to various resorts, while big crowds are to be handled for the Te Aroha races, and the Franklin Show, as well as a special excursion to XVaitomo Caves. Specials will go to the races and to the show on Saturday, while on Sunday the excursion to the Caves probably will be well patronised. The individual picnics for Saturday are outlined here: Ellerslie School to Henderson (550), Mt. Albert Sunday School to Henderson (180). St. Peter’s to Henderson (169), St. Barnabas Sunday School to Henderson (230), Cleave and Co. to Swanson (150), St. David’s to Henderson (600), St. Enoch’s to Henderson (200), Auckland Baptist Tabernacle to Henderson (310), Mt. Eden Presbyterian Sunday School to Henderson (200). In addition to these crowds, the railways will carry 110 men to the camp at Hopu Hopu and bring away 900.
