FIRE-FIGHTING AND FIRST AID

SCOUTS AND GUIDES AT OTAHUHU Captain Ander (superintendent) and the members of the Otahuhu Fire Brigade, wish to express their appreciation of the splendid services rendered by the Girl Guides and Boy Scouts at the disastrous fire which broke out last week in Otahuhu. Special mention must be made of the manner in which the Guides attended to the requirements of tire fire-fighters by carrying refreshments into what might be termed the “front line,” and in addition they rendered first aid in a number of cases. “If a Guide has to do one good deed a day,” stated Captain Ander, “some of these girls are in credit for months ahead.”
