WALKER—MARSHALL
A gown of bright silver lace mounted on rose du Barri georgette was worn by Evelyn, the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Marshall, of Auckland, when she was married at St. Ma.tthew’s Church last evening to Keith John William, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walker, of Oxford, England. A girdle of silver tissue held the frock at the waistline and silver tissue was used for the attractive train which hung from the shoulders. A cloudlike veil of pastel-tinted tulle was he!.d in place with a chaplet of orange blossoms and a bouquet of pink and white flowers was carried, tied with silver ribbons. The bride’s father gave her away and the bridegroom was attended by Mr. William Bennett as best man. The Misses Ruth and Janie Marshall, sisters of the bride, followed her as maids, and wore smart frocks of leaf green and iris mauve crepe de chine respectively. The first attendant s frock was made with a tiered skirt and embroidered in silver thread, with a. shoulder posy of silver and green to accentuate the two colour notes. Miss Janie Marshall had her pretty frock made with a softly gauged bodice and a petalled skirt, and on the shoulder she pinned a dainty silver rose. Both maids wore headdresses
of tulle and carried shower bouquets to tone with their frocks. After the ceremony a reception was held at Nairn’s Tea Rooms, where the guests were received by Mrs. Marshall, who wore an attractive gown of navy blue crepe de chine, inset with lace, and a black satin hat.
