HOPED FOR FORTUNE
DISAPPOINTED INVENTOR WIRE PEGS TURN RUSTY When Catherine Mary Jamieson, a married woman, invented a spring wire clothes peg, she expected to make a fortune. But like many inventors, she was disappointed. At the Magistrate’s Court ye iterday she alleged that a plumber had failed in his guarantee to supply her with rustless material for the pegs. She claimed, therefore, a sum of £75 from E. J. Brittain. Plaintiff, in evidence, said that Brittain had guaranteed to supply her with rustless material, but this he had failed to do. The defence was that no guarantee had been given that the material would be rustless. At this stage the case v-3 adjourned.
