RAILWAYMEN’S PICNIC

Some 700 excursionists attended the railwaymen’s picnic on the Waipa Racing Club’s course on Sunday. A special train came from Frankton and Hamilton, and the day being fine, an enjoyable day’s outing resulted. Sports and games were indulged in during the day, while a baby show was a special feature. The Hon. J. A. Young, Minister of Health and member for Hamilton, was present, and was called upon to act in the capacity of judge of the baby show.

Special arrangements were made for the enjoyment of the children, each .child receiving a present, and the com-

mittees responsible for the adult events carried out their duties to the satisfaction of all. Music was provided during the day.
