Optometric Essay. —lt was announced at the Optometric Conference this morning that Mr. G. E. Read, jun., of Auckland, had been awarded first prize for the institute’s technical essay on “The Field of Vision.” Mr. Charles Martyn, of Auckland, gained second prize in a technical essay on “The Three Humours of the Eye.” Air. E. M. Sandston, of Auckland, was highly commended for an essay on “Prescribing of Prisms.” Auckland was second to Canterbury in the total of essay points for the McKinney Cup.
