CAPITOL

"SOFT CUSHIONS” A natural feminine love of luxury, symbolised by “soft cushions,” is the cause of all the excitement in Douglas Mac Lean’s new Paramount comedy, “Soft Cushions.” Sue Carol, a newcomer to the screen, plays Doug’s leading lady in this George Randolph Chester tale of the Orient, an ambitious slave girl yearning for the luxury of the Sultan’s harem. Then she falls in love with a dashing young thief —Mac Lean —and the fun begins. Doug bets that he will pull the Sultan’s whiskers on the day Sue become’s the ruler’s pet and—and then keeps his promise. Eddie Cline, who scored with his direction of “Let It Rain,” repeats his directorial triumph with this unusual screen comedy, which is being shown at the Capitol Theatre in addition to “The Love Thrill.”
