HATTON AND TAYLOR
TWO FINE BOXERS TO-NIGHT’S ENCOUNTER When Matt Hatton and Frank Taylor meet in the Town Hall this evening, Auckland fight enthusiasts should be provided with a fast and clever display of scientific boxing. Fights have not been plentiful in Auckland of late, and so the meeting of such well-known performers as Hatton and Taylor should bring ‘fans” out in large numbers. If both boys live up tc their reputation as boxers a scientific display well worth journeying a long way to see should be witnessed. Also, both boxers pack a punch and are willing to mix it. Hatton's professional career lias not been of any* great length, but what has been seen of him has been exceptionally good. Taylor has had three fights in the professional ranks—all with Tommy Griffiths, perhaps the cleverest feather-weight in the Dominion, with the exception of Johnny Leckie. Taylor’s record is a win, a loss and a dra w.
The two principals have been showing great form in their work-outs, and everything points for a fight to equal the memorable encounter between McDonald and Broadfoot some time ago. In addition, a good programme of amateur bouts has been arranged.
