OLYMPIC GAMES
BRITISH ATHLETES APPEAL By Cable. —Press Association. — Copyright. LONDON, Wednesday. In striking contrast to the great German bid for supremacy at the neit Olympic Games is the position of British athletes. Thirteen of the most noted performers in 1924 have broadcast an appea> 'through the Press for funds to allowof a worthy team participating in the games. They say it would be Idle to pretend that Britain always expects to be on top in sport, but those interested are anxious that she should be represented at the Olympiad by her oes - i men and women. Other countries* have given Govern - ! ment subsidies, but the British athletes i say they believe that in the best interests of sport Britain’s teams should i be financed by voluntary subscriptions. ■—A. and N.Z.
