Devonport Regatta
YACHTING Satisfactory entries have been re- ! ceived for the Devonport Yacht Club’s j annual regatta to be held to-morrow afternoon. This is also the club’s “cup day,” and there are nine races on the programme. The first event will start at 2.30 p.m., and others will j follow at eight-minute intervals. All events will start and finish between Victoria Wharf and a mark boat or flagship moored south. It has been arranged to have a scow or schooner as flagship, and it is hoped that the club’s patrons and supporters will be on board in force. Following are the entries, handicaps and courses: Classes A and B (kelers), Duder Cup. Start-at 2.30 p.m. Course: From starting line, thence round Bastion beacon on port hand, thence round red luminous buoy on port hand, thence round Duder's Spit buoy on port hand, thence round red luminous buoy on starboard hand, thence round Bastion beacon on starboard hand, thence round Point Resolution buoy on starboard hand, thence round mark oil Stanley Bay on starboard hand, finishing across starting line. About 13 nautical miles. Entries: lorangi, Prize, Nga-Toa, Waione, Rangi, Victory, Kotiri, Windward. Handicaps for these classes will be declared on morning of race. Classes E and H. Edwin Cup. Start 2.38 p.m. Course: Same as above, but substituting salt works beacon for Duder’s Spit buoy. About 12 nautical miles. Entries: Celox, scr; Starlock, 4m; Mahoe, Bm. Naval Whalers. Star 2.46 p.m. Course: From starting line,, thence round Sandspit beacon, Resolution buoy and mark off Stanley Bay. Twice round, finishing at starting line. Entries: Philomel, scr; Devonport Old Navals, scr. Classes L and N, “Herald” Cup. Start 2.54 p.m. Course: Same as for classes E and H. Entries: Valeria, scr.; Venus, scr; Marie, 2£m; Wairere, sm: Louisa, 9m; Rahiri, 16m; Waima, 18m; Wayward, 20m. Class M, Jellicoe Cup. Start 3.2 p.m Course: From starting line, thence round Bastion ‘beason, thence round Resolution buoy, thence round Stanley Bay mark, thence round southern mark _of starting line, thence round Resolution buoy, thence round Stanley Bay mark, finishing across starting line. All marks to be taken on starboard hand. About eight nautical miles. Entries: Mawhiti, Manene, Maroro, Maia, Maratea, Mischief, Matarere, all scr. Classes V and S. Start 3.30 P-m. Course: Same as that for Class M. Entries: Magic, scr: TVild Wave, 2m; Sea Sleigh, am; Rival, 8m; Waitui, 10m. Star Class. Start 3.18 p.m. Course: Same as that for Class M. Entries: Ola. Moa, Jur>*\ all scr. Classes T, X and Y. Maude Shield. Start 3.26 p.m. Course: From starting line, thence round Sandsrit beacon. Resolution buoy and mark orf Stanley Bay.
