EAST TAMAKI CLUB’S ANNUAL SPORTS MEETING
TO BE HELD ON MARCH 10 The East Tamaki Amateur Sports Club has decided on Saturday, March 10, as the day to hold its annual meeting. A very comprehensive programme has been provided, and the sprinters and distance performers have been well catered for in both the running and cycling events. The principal event of the <jday, the East Tamaki Handicap, of 120yds, carries a cup valued at £5, and is certain to maintain its popularity -as in past years. In addition to running and cycling contests, the club is also catering for hunters’ contests, and as this part of the district is the stronghold of the Pakuranga Hunt Club, -some good jumping and interesting contests are assured. An addition to this year’s programme is the inclusion of the Third Auckland Mounted Rifles annual competitions, and this part of the programme is sure to supply all the thrills necessary to make the meeting very interesting and worthy of a visit. The Mounted Rifles Band will be in attendance.
