EMBARGO ON APPLES
“AUSTRALIA’S RIGHT” FEELING IN CANADA By Cable. —Press Association.—Copyright Reed. 9. a.m. OTTAWA, Wednesday. Answering a question in the House of Representatives, Mr. W. R. Motherwell, Minister of Agriculture, stated that the Government of Australia had not yet removed the embargo on Canadian apples because it still feared the effect of fireblight. He had taken the matter up with Mr. Bruce when the Australian Prime Minister was in Canada, he said, and had since heard that Australia maintained its previous attitude that it had a perfect right to impose the embargo if it wished.—A. and N.Z.
