The trial has commenced of William Edward Hickman and a youthful companion, Welby Hunt, for the murder of Ivy Thoms, a Los Angeles chemist. —A. and N.Z. Hickman, who was sentenced to death on Tuesday Tor the murder of Marion Parker, the 12-year-old schoolgirl, confessed after his arrest to having committed another murder, but pleaded insanity as the reason for both crimes.
