MANUNUI PIGEON CLUB

The Manunui Pigeon Club's second race from North was a trying one for the birds, as the smoke from numerous bush fires along the line of flight affected the entrants. The race resulted: T. Williams’s Master Ben, 764yds per minute, 1; R. Patterson’s Lightening, 728.7yd5, 2; D. Wilson’s Star Gold, 724.9yd5, 3; D. Andrews’s Rolling Stone, 711.5yd5, 4; J. Whittaker’s Rose Marie, 558.7yd5, 5. The next race will be from the South, the birds being liberated at Taihape.
