The Minister for Defence, the Hon. f J kolleston, together with Mrs. Rolle'ston, joined the Limited express at Te Kuiti last evening, and returned to Wellington. _ T) r J. R. Closs, accompanied by Mrs. doss, went south on the express from Auckland last evening. Mr C. J. B. Norwood, former Mayor „C Wellington, is on a business visit to Auckland. Sir George Elliot, chairman of the Bank of New Zealand, left Auckland {or Wellington last evening. Mr J- Robertson. First Assistant Secretary to the Post and Telegraph Department, is visiting Auckland on departmental business. The Rev. T. Halliday, of St. Peter’s church Grey Lynn, was last evening Elected moderator of the Auckland presbytery for the next six months. Mr E N G. Poulton. private secretary to the Minister of Internal Affairs, has returned to Wellington from Auckland. jr_ j. Tait, general manger. J. p Williamson, Ltd., accompanied, by ir Beaumont Smith, left for a short visit to Rotorua by car yesterday. "Relatives of the late Mr. R. Xj. Hoey, headmaster of the Mauku School were ercorded a motion of sympathy by the Auckland Education Board to-day. Mr F E. Levy, manager for Auckland ‘of the Goldberg Advertising \gency, Ltd., has been appointed a director of the company. Mr C F. Eskell, general manager of Universal Films (N.Z.), Ltd., accompanied by Mr. W. A. Hislop. of Wellington. arrived in Auckland by car last evening from Rotorua. The death of Mr. James Drummond, late headmaster of the Auckland Grammar School, was referred to with regret by the chairman of the Auckland Education Board, Mr. A. Burns, to-day. The board passed a motion of sympathy with Mr. Drummond’s relatives. Mr. W. G. K. Wright, who has been appointed the official delegate of the New Zealand Dairy Factory Managers' Association to the World Dairy Congress, is to leave for England early in March, and will also investigate dairying conditions in the chief dairying centres of Europe.
