WOMEN AND CHILDREN

N.Z. PROTECTION SOCIETY At the monthly meeting of the committee of the New Zealand Society for the Protection of Women and Children held on Monday and presided over by the Rev. P. S. Smallfield, the secretary reported that 42 new ,cases had been dealt with since the last meeting. Of this number 12 cases had been sent to the solicitors, 23 concerned husbands and wives, nine concerned children, five various matters, and five were affiliation cases. There had been 191 office interviews. The inspector had attended 49 cases involving 130 visits and interviews, and spent eight mornings in court.
