BUTTER-FAT PAYMENTS

BAY OF ISLANDS DAIRY COY. (From Our Own Correspondent) KAIKOHE, Tuesday. On February 20, the Bay of Islands Cooperative Dairy Company, Ltd., is paying Qut to suppliers the sum of £5,721 for January butter-fat, the advance being at the rate of Is Old a lb for first grade, and Is Id a lb for superfine. The output of butter for the month of January this season was 336 tons, compared with 293 tons for the same period last season. The grading of butter during part of the month reached the satisfactory position of 94 points. HAMILTON, Tuesday. In the period extending from June 1 to January 31 the Te Aroha Dairy Company paid out £86,430 in advances to suppliers. The distribution to be made on February 15 for last month’s supply of butter-fat is £13,413 based on an actual cash payment of Is 2d a lb. No deduction is being made for cartage. Production declined rapidly during the last fortnight due to the dry spell.
