Monday The first indication of activity on the part of the Government in prep? ration for the general election at the end of the current year is in the announcement of the proposed trie South by the Minister of Finance, the Hon. W. Downie Stewart, to whose iot usually falls the burden of the firs: policy speech in every financial year The Minister will visit Dunedin at the end of this week, and while there will deliver at least* one policy address. It is possible that this will be the signal for pre-sessional visits by other members of the Cabinet, who will have a busy year in covering the entire Dominion before the election campaign commences.
