TAURANGA TOURNEY OPENING OF PLAY (From, Our Own Correspondent) TAURANGA, To-day. The ninth annual tournament of the Tauranga Bowling Club was opened this morning by the president, Mr. Geo. Henderson; in fine but hot weather. The green was good, despite the long dry spell. Eighteen teams are competing in two sec-tions. Besults of the first round are as follow, skip’s name mentioned last in each instance: Hamilton East. (Zaney, Hitchcock, Horton, Chapman), 28, v. Poverty Bay (Blackburn, McGibbon, Moore, 'Wilkinson), 17; Mount Eden (Delamore, Battersby, Vivian and Gruer), 26. v. West End (Andrews, Knaggs, Colt.hu rst and Potter), 9; Devonport (Melville, King. Moncur and Pascoe), 27, v. Tauranga South (Boyd, Ward, Pilcher. Watson), 13; Te Puke (Jamieson, Budd, Alexander, Palmer), 19, v. Hamilton (Leek, Gowen.
