FRENCH TRAM SMASH By Cable.—Press Association. — Copyright. Reed. 11 a.m. PARIS, Friday. The death-roll from the Thionville train smash is now 17. Debris is hampering the rescue work.—A. and N.Z. A previous message stated that the goods wagon of a road tramway broke loose near Thionville, Alsace-Lorraine, and came into violent Collision with a passenger tram at a level crossing. Twelve people were killed and 34 were injured. The driver of the first tram is alleged to have decamped.
