One to be* Reckoned With Although Rose Bingen had not been very long in work prior to the holiday activities she ran fair races, and on the final day gave a lot of cheek in the trotters’ event. Rose has been a solid performer, and has a Rowe Cup to her credit, while a year ago at Addington she ran a good third over two miles registering 4.35. On a 4.38 mark at the Otahuhu function Rose Bingen is bound to command a lot of respect. On the Improve What a good trotter Napland was a couple of seasons back, and should Harry Kinnimont succeed in getting the Petereta —Dreamland gelding to return to that form, he would have a rosy chance of picking up a decent stake oi 4 two. The Gisborne-owned trotter is putting in good work of late, but with such improved ones in front of him he will require to be right at the peak to top them off. A Great Trotter
Young Blake has struck form with a vengeance, and the way he is doing his work suggests that he is capable of pulling out more fine efforts. When he goes solid there are not many square-gaiters in the land that have anything on W. J. Tomkinson’s charge. W.J. has found out the trotters’ peculiarities and the pair are a happy combination. If Young Blake faces the starter at Epsom again, he will have a lot of friends^ Waikaha, is the recognised trotting crack of the Auckland Province, and no doubt in view of his past performances, he is justly entitled to the honour. The tradesmanlike manner, in which he silenced the opposition in the recent Rowe Cup contest stamped him as a real horse, and although on a 4.33 mark at Otahuhu he has nothing to complain about, and although he has not yet accomplished that time, will keep the opposition busy if stepped out "next Saturday.
