“Sailors’ Wives,” from the novel by Warner Fabian, has Mary Astor and Lloyd Hughes in the leading roles. * * * Ruth Taylor, Lorelei in “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes,” is called the greatest screen find of the year. Adolphe Menjou’s next Paramount picture will be “The Beauty Doctor.” The story was written by Ernest Vajda. Lothar Mendes is directing. * * * Dorothy MacKaill and Jack Mulhall will shortly be presented in “Lady, Be Good,” from the musical comedy success. “Doomsday,” a novel by Warwick Deeping, has been screened with Florence Vidor as the heroine and Gary Cooper and Lawrence Grant in the cast. The director was Rowland V. Lee. * * * Colleen Moore’s new First National comedy, “Her Wild Oats,” has been completed, and the star has left Hollywood for a week’s rest in the mountains.
A new melodramatic comedy for Wallace Beery and Raymond Hatton will be directed by Frank Strayer. Mary Brian is chosen for the ingenue lead.
