BROKE OWN RECORD
FRED. NIBLO’S ACHIEVEMENT IMPORTANT RELEASES Fred Niblo has broken his own record of two important releases annually over a period of seven years. In 1927 he directed Norma Talmadge’s “Camille,” Lillian Gish’s “The Enemy,” Gilda Gray’s “Devil Dancer,” and “The Flower of Spain,” starring Ronald Colman and Vilma Banky. “The Flower of Spain” is not finished now, but it will be soon. “Because of new scientific methods films may now maintain a high quality and yet be made on a shortened time schedule,” says Niblo. “Lillian Gish’s picture was completed in 33 days and promises to make a good showing. That intricate story of India, “The Devil Dancer,” was finished in even less time, proving that an authentic foreign atmosphere is possible on short schedule.
“Artistic ability must now be combined with business efficiency.”
