“LILAC TIME”

A COLLEEN MOORE PRODUCTION After three months’ active preparation, “Lilac Time,” Colleen Moore’s next production for First National Pictures, will be started within the next two weeks. John McCormick, producer of Miss Moore’s pictures; George Fijpmaurice, who is to direct; Carey Wilson and Willis Goldbeck, who are preparing the story for the screen, have been working steadily on plans for the production for several weeks. Gary Cooper has been selected to play the masculine lead opposite the star. He is young, good looking and athletic and is regarded as a splendid choice for the role of the young British soldier. Miss Moore enacts the part of a little French girl. The scene is principally laid in France, during the World War, and the romance is beautiful and sincere. 4 “Lilac Time” is by Jane Cowl and Jane Murfln, and afforded the former a stellar vehicle for the stage which she played with great success. George Fitzmaurice, with his European training experience, is considered an ideal director of this picture, which will unquestionably be one of the most elaborate in which Colleen Moore has ever appeared. Approximately one thousand theatres in Australia and New Zealand will be celebrating Paramount’s Greater Movie Season, which is scheduled for March.
