“TIP TOES”

BOX PLANS OPEN ON MONDAY At 9 o’clock on Monday morning tlie box plans will be opened at the new premises of Lewis It. Eady’s for the production of the stupendous London and New York musical comedy triumph, “Tip Toes, ’ which is to be staged for the first time in New Zealand at His Majesty’s Theatre on Wednesday night next. “Tip Toes” has all the ingredients necessary for the "make up” of a bright musical comedy, including tuneful music, bright musical numbers, clever and original dancing, genuinely humorous comedy, and the scenery and dresses are special features of the production. The cast for “Tip Toes” was selected regardless of cost, and it includes Cecil Kellaway and It. Barrett-Len-nard, two popular and brilliant comedians, Miss Thelma Eurness and Miss Beryl Walkeley, who have on former occasions proved themselves high-class musical comedy artists. Miss Billie Lockwood, a talented young Australian comedienne, who recently returned from a successful visit to London, Mr. Leyland Hodgson, the delightful young baritone, Mr. Boy Russell, a talented young artist from London, and Josephine Head, Albert Hugo and Mile. Ramona, the famous international dancers from the Folies Bergere, Paris, whose artistry created a furore of enthusiasm in Australia. “Tip Toes” boasts of a particularly interesting and well-con-structed story. Tip Toes is the central figure. She is a member of a vaudeville troupe, and in the first scene she arrives in the company’s travelling trunk to save the fare. Wealth, in the form of a thousanddollar bill, suddenly descends on the troupe, and they decide to spend some of it on pretty little Tip Toes, dressing her up in the style of millionairess, so that she may catch a millionaire husband. Sailing under these false colours, Tip Toes meets her millionaire, but she falls in love with him, and then finds she cannot go on with the deceit. The interest is sustained right up to the fall of the curtain, and during its progress there is an abundance of bright comedy. Only 10 nights can be devoted to the Auckland season, during which "Queen High,” another successful musical 'comedy, will also be staged.
