HAMILTON RINK WINS ROTORUA TOURNEY
CARLTON BEATEN IN FINAL (From Our Own Correspondent) ROTORUA, To-day. Beating first the Rotorua rink skipped by Brown and then the Carlton four headed by veteran Truscott, the Hamilton team which included the two Bells, senior and junior, and Smith and Jones, fought its way to victory in the Rotorua bowling toumamnt yesterday by a convincing margin. In the final, Truscott’s rink went away to a good start, and it was not till the 11th head that Bell got in front. On the 15th, Bell was 15, and Truscott 13. Then the Hamilton rink went ahead in brilliant style, and at the 20th head with the score 26-—l4 in favour of the Hamilton men, it was decided to stop, the last head not being played. After the game the president of the Rotorua Club, Mr. Meyriman, presented the banner to the winning team, and congratulated it on its success. A trophy was also presented to Carlton as runners-up. TE AWAMUTU’S WIN VISITING BOWLERS ENTERTAINED A rink of bowlers from Okania Crystal Springs Club, near Matamata, paid a visit to* Te Awamutu on Thursday and played, a local rink (C. Mclnnes, S. M. Dunkley, F. B. Bowden and J. T. North). The visting players were: G. Green, J. W. Simpson, W. Crabb and W. O. Garland. Three games were played, Te Awamutu winning two.
