PAPATOETOE WATER SUPPLY The steady progress which has been maintained In connection with the sinking of the shaft, for the supply of water for the Papatoetoe town district. has eased up somewhat on account of the striking of a seam of rock, necessitating the commencement of blasting operations. The shaft has been sunk just on 30ft, and this is the first obstacle encounttred. Up to the present there are no indications of the presence of water, and a further grant will be necessary, as the original £75 has been absorbed.
