POWER FOR AUCKLAND
NO DEFINITE DATES CONSIDERABLE ANXIETY FELT “Surely it is only reasonable to expect the Government to give a guaranise that the work will be completed by the date promised—that is in June” said Mr. A. G. Lunn, president of the Chamber of Commerce, yesterday referring to the fact that theGovernment had given no definite date for the completion of the works for the supplementary supply of power for Auckland from the Penrose sub-sta-tion. Mr. Lunn said that is was realised that the Auckland Power Board was taking steps to expedite this work. If this were done it would save very considerable disorganisation, delay and extra cost to industrialists and others in the Auckland Power Board area.. The issue of a report of a meeting of the Auckland Power Board during the last few' days regarding the supply of power had caused considerable anxiety in industrial and commercial circles.
