UNEMPLOYMENT RIFE AT BUSIEST PERIOD

LABOUR PROTEST WAITING FOR GOVERNMENT Press Association . WELLINGTON, Tuesday. A joint statement was issued today by the Wellington Trades Labour Council and the Alliance of Labour reviewing the question of unemployment in the Dominion and urging the Government and local bodies to take steps to organise adequate schemes to meet the difficulty, which it is alleged is still present, even at the busiest period of the year. The statement says that a deputation was arranged from the Wellington Trades Council to meet the Government, but the council is still waiting the Government’s pleasure to place before it the present state of unemployment.
