FURTHER ACTIVITY
NEW BRANCH FORMED
A well-attended meeting of members ef the New Zealand Labour Party was Held last evening in Hirst Hall. Morninsrside, for the purpose of forming a branch of the party at Morningside. The opinion expressed was that the tine waa more than ripe for a branch, end the desire was expressed that those present should do all they could, to get voters of the electorate to consider the objects and platform of the party, and. If a branch were formed, to do all In their power to see that none but party men were elected to public position so that electors would have some say through their representatives in the tontrol of their own affairs. A branch was formed, Mr. O. Mason being elected chairman pro tern., Mr. I. Toomath, secretary and Messrs. P W. Vaugh, Wm. McVeigh, H. B. Hurley. W. Delich, a committee. Twenty members’ names were entered on the toll.
A room for meetings has been secured tnd addresses by members of Parliaptnt will be given. Lectures, debates, lard party and socials are to be arranged, so that the branch will be held |o(ether and the membership increased
