SPORTS AT WELLINGTON GROSE BEATEN .AGAIN Press Association. WELLINGTON, Sunday. At the Wellington and Wanganui Clubs jubilee athletic meeting last evening, the gate takings totalled £228. In the mile cycle event T. Oakley (Masterton) beat F. Grose. Oakley also won the three miles cycle race. * Miss N. Wilson won the 50yds invitation ladies’ handicap in 6 2-ssec, only l-ssec slower than the world’s record. She also won the 100yds ladies’ scratch race in 11 2-ssec. The Gisborne ladies’ team retained the Etaveneaux Cup, beating Wellington and Wanganui by 50yds. R. W. Lander won the 120yds hurdles from scratch in 16sec, and also the 440yds hurdles. Wellington beat Wanganui in the 440yds relay. In putting the shot P. Munro, from scratch, did 42ft 9in.
