DROWNED IN BATHS
YOUNG MAN’S DEATH WELLINGTON INQUEST Press Association. WELLINGTON, Friday. The inquest on William Connelly, aged 22, who was drowned at the Khandallah Swimming Pool on Tuesday, was held to-day. The evidence showed that after bathing the deceased returned to the water, saying he would swim across to the dressing room. His companion missed him after two or three minutes and told the caretaker, who dived in and recovered the body. All efforts to restore breathing proved fruitless. The coroner said that the deceased might have had a heart attack, for had he got into difficulties he would probably have attracted attention. On the other hand, there were some slight signs of death from drowning, and a verdict to that effect would be returned.
