EX-AUCKLAND LEAGUERS SHARE IN SPECTACULAR TRIUMPH IN ENGLAND
Chosen to play Tor Lancashire against Yorkshire last month, the New Zealand League trio, Davidson, Brown and Mason, assisted the Lancastrians to an overwhelming victory to the tune of 58 points to 24. Brown's pace on the wing brought him three tries, and Davidson annexed a brace, Mason cradling his way across for the fifth touch-down registered by the Maoriland continoent. The match was a benefit for E. Knapman, who played for the English tourists in 1924 at Carlaw Park against both Auckland and New Zealand. A serious shoulder injury has resulted in Knanman being compelled to give the game best at the comparatively early age of 28.
