DR. A. W.. HILL’S VISIT

FAMOUS BOTANIST AUCKLAND ITINERARY An itinerary has been drawn up h\ representatives of Auckland pub ; bodies to cover the visit of Dr. A. \\ Hill, director of the Royal Botanic.*! Gardens at Kew, London, who is !«• arrive in Auckland on Sunday morning. On his arrival he will join a small Party on a trip through the orchardat Henderson and Swanson. In the afternoon the native bush at Puk* - matekoe, Spragg's Bush, Nihotupu and Titirangi will be viewed. A visit to Rangitoto has been planned for Monday morning. Proceeding to Kohimarama by launch. Dr. Hill will join a party of botanists. Motor-cars will take them past Lake Bt. John and Ellerslie to the Domain. In the evening the Mayor will publicly welcome the visitor in the University Hall. Dr. L. Cockayne, F.R.S., and Dr. Hill will both give short addresses. Dr. Cockayne and Afr. F. R. Cali.* - han, of the Department of Scientific Research, will accompany Dr. Hill to Rotorua on Tuesday, where three day s will be spent in inspecting forestry operations- After a visit to the flax - growing districts of the Manawaiu district, the party will reach Wellington on February 14. Dr. HiH is leaving for Sydney two d*ys later.
