DELORES DEL RIO’S GREAT ROLE Who will ever forget the vivid character which Delores Del Rio presented as Charmalne, in the big Fox production. “WhaJ: Price Glory?” Her Latin charm and dusky beauty were a continual delight throughout the film, and screen "fans” will welcome the news that she is to play the title role in the screen version of the famous opera, which is being titled “Loves of Carmen.” With her are associated two other big names of “What Price Glory,” these being Victor McLaglen, the powerful Captain Flagg, who is cast as Escamillo. the toreador, and Raoul Walsh, the producer of both films. Mis Del Rio is the first screen actress of Spanish blood to play this essentially fiery role, and her portrayal contains" all the abandon and romance of the colourful opera. Don Alvarado and Nancy Nash are in important supports. Paul McAllister. well-know*n character actor, will play the part of the Rabbi in the Paramount film production of "Abie’s Irish Rose,” made from Anne Nichols's famous stage success. Charles Rogers.
