HUNTLY TOWN BOARD
NEW LOAN PROPOSALS The ordinary meeting of the Huntlv Town Board took place- on Tuesday All the .members were present, the chairman, Mr. E. George, presiding. Building permits were granted to H. Astbury and James Salmon. Loan proposals to the number. of two were put on a concrete footing, and preliminary formalities complied with, and polling will take place in about two time - It is estimated that 2,100 yards of metal will be required for the main roading scheme, and will probably be tendered for. Mr. Recce Lewis applied for the use of the town hall for a boxing carnival on February 24, and no objections were offered by the board. Complaints were voiced as to the quality of %Jie music at the town hall pictures, and a strong endeavour is to be made to have the standard improved. Opportunity was takei} by the chairman to welcome Mr. E. J. Price, the new clerk, who commenced his duties on February 1. Mr. Price returned thanks for his reception, and assured his hearers of his intention to assist wholeheartedly any movement for the good of the town. Mr. Fred Harris also returned thanks for kindly references to himself made by the chairman and Dr. Macdiarmid.
